BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby closed and abandoned Short Street located northeast of East 5th Street between Highland Park Avenue and Holly Street, more particularly described herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference: Part of Short Street, a 20 foot wide right-of-way. To find the true point of beginning of said part of street, start on the northeast line of East 5th Street 90 feet northwest of the intersection of the northeast line of East 5th Street with the northwest line of Holly Street, thence northeast 125.75 feet to the true point of beginning, thence northwest 20 feet, thence northeast 48 feet, thence southeast 20 feet, thence southwest 48 feet to the true point of beginning. Said part of street separates lots 6 and 7 from lots 13 and 14, Sawyer and Crowther's Subdivision of Lot 99 and the South Half of Lot 98, East End Syndicate, as shown by plat of record in plat book 3, page 6, R.O.H.C. Tax Map No. 146G-G-20 and 23. SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this closure and abandonment is made subject to the following conditions: 1. The resubdivision of adjacent property to be approved by the City Traffic Engineer so as to prevent any land-locked parcels. 2. The areas reserved for utility easements must be kept free and clear of all structures. 3. All existing easements are retained. SECTION 3. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as provided by law.
